Amazing forest in the center of Madrid

Definitely worth to visit train station Atocha in center of Madrid even if you are not going to go by train anywhere. It's rather humid in there since they have water sprayed automatically every few minutes on trees and all other plants but on the other hand it feels like in a jungle when you come close by to those huge trees inside the building.

Peru's Green invasion

An impromptu park is part of Peru’s Gran Semana de Lima (Lima’s Great Week) offering urban dwellers a welcome greenspace. The Invasion Verde art installation features recycled tires, plastic sculptures, grassy mounds, seating areas, and flowers.

Architects Genaro Alva, Denise Ampuero and Gloria Andrea Rojas, working in conjunction with industrial designer Claudia Ampuero, created the pop up park on Pasaje Encarnacion, in Lima’s historical centre.

The Artificial and the Natural - An Evolving Polarity

Genetically modified food, art in the form of a phosphorescent rabbit implanted with jellyfish DNA, and robots that simulate human emotion would seem to be evidence for the blurring boundary between the natural and the artificial. Yet because the deeply rooted concept of nature functions as a cultural value, a social norm, and a moral authority, we cannot simply dismiss the distinction between art and nature as a nostalgic relic. Disentangling the cultural roots of many current debates about new technologies, the essays in this volume examine notions of nature and art as they have been defined and redefined in Western culture, from the Hippocratic writers' ideas of physis and technē and Aristotle's designation of mimetic arts to nineteenth-century chemistry and twenty-first century biomimetics.

These essays—by specialists of different periods and various disciplines—reveal that the division between nature and art has been continually challenged and reassessed in Western thought. In antiquity, for example, mechanical devices were seen as working "against nature"; centuries later, Descartes not only claimed the opposite but argued that nature itself was mechanical. Nature and art, the essays show, are mutually constructed, defining and redefining themselves, partners in a continuous dance over the centuries.

Natural Architecture

This concept, developed from the book published by the photographer Alessandro Rocca unites topics from eco friendly architecture otherwise called organic architecture, natural architecture, sustainable architecture, green architecture, to sculptural forms, raw earth buildings or clay construction, earth roofs, living roofs, planted roofs, roof gardens with succulents, balancing masculinity and femininity in design etc...

"Featuring ample and accomplished photography of over 60 site-specific installations that push "designing with nature in mind" to the limits of architectural design, and maybe past them features of unique structures built using artisan skills, using natural materials in the most minimally processed forms possible, and incorporating designs that have been pared down to their most basic, eloquent expressions of the interactions between form, material and setting."

Contemporary Amalgamation of Natural and Artificial

Set amid the rapidly rising and utterly upscale retail, commercial and entertainment establishments of the area, the building stands out for its contemporary and innovative green facade, winding its way around clean, contemporary windows that offer a peek at what’s inside. The living mossy exterior, which is composed of a geotextile planting with herbaceous perennial, makes its way inside and spills along the walls of a downward staircase leading to the subterranean Multi-Shop.

GEOGRAPHY

ARTIFICIAL ECOSYSTEM

Humans have modified some ecosystems for their own benefits and these are Artificial Ecosystem. They can be terrestrial (crop field, garden etc.) or aquatic (aquarium, dam, man made pond etc.).
Life is based on energy. the Sun is the primary source of Energy on this planet. Plants and other producers turn light into chemical energy. The producers ( trees, Plants) themselves and the consumers use this chemical energy to carry out processes of life.
A food chain shows an energy relationship. A plant captures sunlight and uses it for photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process that is happened in plants and tress to make food themselves.
